Verano (meaning summer) is a sunny reflection of all seven varieties planted across Alex Craighead's organic vineyards in Upper Moutere in Nelson (Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Syrah). The white grapes outnumber the red, though the blend changes year to year.
Wildly floral, with rosehip and redcurrant flavours it has a palate that veers towards savoury rather than sweet.
